Quadri Aruna leads Amiens to another win

Nigeria’s table tennis star, Quadri Aruna, is off to a great start in the French Pro B League. He helped Amiens STT win their second match in a row against Nantes TT on Tuesday.

Aruna joined the French team in May to help them get back to the Pro A division. He played an important part in Amiens’ latest win.

This match was special because Nantes TT had Nigerian legend Segun Toriola playing for them. This made it one of the most exciting matches to watch this round.

Amiens came into the game with confidence after a tough 3-2 win over Lille in their first match. With Aruna as the top player on the team, they have a lot of international experience, including former European champion Joao Monteiro from Portugal, Robert Gardos from Austria, and Cho Seungmin from South Korea.

As expected, Aruna started the match. He faced Andre Silva, his old teammate from Sporting Clube de Portugal. Aruna lost the first game 11-7, but he quickly found his rhythm. He showed his strong attacking style and intensity, winning the next three games 11-5, 11-8, and 11-3, giving Amiens a great start.

The visitors kept their lead when South Korea’s Cho Seungmin played against veteran Toriola. Seungmin played well, beating the former African champion in straight games, 11-5, 11-6, and 11-5, putting Amiens in control with a score of 2-0.

Amiens secured the win when Joao Monteiro beat Turkey’s Ibrahim Gunduz in a close match. Monteiro won 3-0, but the games were tight, with scores of 11-9, 12-10, and 11-7.

This win keeps Amiens’ perfect start to the season. They are now among the top teams in the league. After two matches, Amiens is keeping pace with Caen TTC and Pontoise-Cergy. With this momentum, Aruna and his teammates are looking forward to their next home game against Compiégnois TT on October 23, eager to keep pushing for promotion.
