Abia Warriors got one back with a penalty from Emeka Obioma in the 53rd minute. But Akorode Daniel scored in stoppage time to ensure the defending champions took all three points.

This win was a great response after their 1-1 draw against Katsina United. Rivers United remains firmly in the title race with this victory.
Enyimba built on their recent 4-2 win over Shooting Stars with a 2-0 success against Plateau United in Aba. They have now achieved back-to-back league victories after a tough start to the season.
