Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Al-Nassr against Al-Faisaly on Friday. His second-half header brought his career total to 982 goals.

The Portuguese star found the net in the 49th minute of the Saudi Pro League match. He headed in a free-kick delivered by his fellow countryman João Félix.

Goal reported that the goal went through a video review after protests from Al-Nassr players. The referee eventually decided that Ronaldo was onside and allowed the goal.

This goal led to some debate among fans on social media. Some claimed the ball might have gone in off an Al-Faisaly defender. But the official records from the Saudi Pro League credited the goal to Ronaldo.

Al-Nassr took the lead early in the game thanks to Abdullah Al-Hamdan, who scored in the fourth minute with an assist from Sadio Mané. Theo Bongonda brought Al-Faisaly back into the game in the 66th minute, making it 2-1 and giving his team hope for a comeback.

But Angelo Gabriel scored in the 79th minute to secure the win for Al-Nassr. This goal reportedly brought Ronaldo's career total to 982, leaving him just 18 goals away from becoming the first player ever to hit 1,000 career goals.

Ronaldo’s goal also marked Al-Faisaly as the 25th different team he has scored against in the Saudi Pro League, according to the stats from Goal. This achievement moved him ahead of former Al-Hilal forward Nasser Al-Shamrani, who scored against 24 different teams.

Al-Nassr played this match at Al-Majma’ah Sports City Stadium as they continued their campaign in the Saudi Pro League.
