With Christmas just a few months away, Nigerian perfume retailer Seinde Signature has launched the 2026 edition of Nigeria’s first perfume advent calendar. This calendar was first introduced in 2025.
An advent calendar is used to count down to Christmas. It started with German Christians and usually has 24 numbered compartments. Each compartment is opened daily from December 1 until Christmas Eve. This tradition is popular in Western countries.
Seinde Signature claims to be the first to bring this idea to Nigeria’s fragrance market. They are the only Nigerian retailer to create a calendar focusing only on niche perfumes.
The new calendar is aimed at perfume lovers, collectors, and anyone looking for luxury gifts this Christmas. Niche perfumes are made by specialized fragrance companies and are produced in smaller quantities than mainstream designer scents. They appeal to fragrance fans who want unique or less common fragrances.
Seinde Signature’s advent calendar is different from the usual 24-compartment type. It has 12 individually wrapped fragrances. The company says this represents the 12 days of Christmas, and each one should be opened one at a time.
The 2026 calendar builds on the first edition released in 2025. "We made our first calendar last year. This is the one we have been building towards since a single case holding 12 fragrances from the houses we love most," said Ore-Oluwa Olusola, the company’s general manager.
"Twelve genuine introductions, arranged to be opened one at a time."
The calendar features fragrances from 12 international niche perfume houses. These include Masque Milano, Agatho, Electimuss, Sarah Baker, Christian Provenzano, Fugazzi, Régalien, Pana Dora, 100BON, Jeroboam, Alghabra, and Botanicae.
Some of the fragrances were secured through partnerships with these perfume houses. Seinde Signature says the collection includes items that are not commonly found in Nigeria, along with some exclusive to their stores.
The calendar comes in Bronze, Silver, and Gold editions, and the contents differ by category. Each fragrance is packed separately inside the box.
Prices for the 2026 Advent calendar start at ₦1.2 million, making it a luxury offering in Nigeria’s festive-gifting market. The retailer mentioned that the fragrances inside have a total retail value ranging from ₦3 million to ₦4.5 million.
They described the lower price as a gift to customers and members of their fragrance community who have supported the brand.
