The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has said that Vice President Kashim Shettima’s second visit to the state shows that President Bola Tinubu trusts the path of governance under Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The party also mentioned that it shows the growing link between what the federal government wants and what the state is delivering.
During his visit on Tuesday, the VP will open the 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi. This project is a key infrastructure development of the Oyebanji government.
He will also kick off the Ekiti Knowledge Zone project and inaugurate other important projects.
The APC State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Monday that “these projects show the connection between ‘Renewed Hope’ at the federal level and ‘Shared Prosperity’ at the state level.
He noted that the VP’s visit would “strengthen federal-state teamwork on infrastructure and economic growth. It also shows the government’s commitment to working with the Federal Government, development partners, and private businesses to improve life for Ekiti people.
“More than just concrete and steel, this visit sends a clear political message. The partnership between President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope and Governor Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity is clear, real, and delivering results. Ekiti people can see the changes in roads built, projects opened, pensions paid, and systems improved.”
The APC spokesperson added, “With the governorship election set for June 20, 2026, and the presidential election for January 2027, the VP’s visit reinforces what voters already know: Continuity works. The projects being launched during this visit assure that tomorrow will be better under the same team.
“Ekiti APC believes that the impact of this visit and the achievements it highlights will lead to strong support for Governor Oyebanji and his deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye, on June 20, and for President Tinubu in 2027. When service meets the ballot, the people choose progress.”
According to Dipe, the visit, made on behalf of Tinubu, brings the President’s “Renewed Hope” agenda directly to Ekiti, where it aligns with Governor Oyebanji’s “Shared Prosperity” plan.
Remember that during the VP’s first visit in May 2024, he opened the Omisanjana, Deeper Life, Ajebandele Road and an MSME clinic, among other projects.
