Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade and six other players have joined the team's camp in Ikenne-Remo. This is ahead of Friday's 2028 Olympic qualifying first leg against Comoros. This brings the number of players in camp to 21.
Ajibade was joined by defender Michelle Alozie, midfielders Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, and Jennifer Echegini. Also joining are forwards Folashade Ijamilusi and Janet Akekoromowei.
Five more players are expected to arrive by Tuesday evening. They include goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Comfort Erhabor. The forwards Gift Monday, Joy Omewa, and Uchenna Kanu will also join.
The match, which was supposed to be played in Comoros, will now take place at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo. Kick-off is set for 6pm on Friday.
CAF has named Rwandan referee Henriette Byukusenge to officiate the match. She will have compatriots Sandrine Murangwa and Regine Mukayiranga as assistants. Aline Umutoni will be the fourth official.
Fransiska Katjaimo from Namibia will serve as the referee assessor. Oumou Sy from Burkina Faso is the match commissioner.
Meanwhile, the Comoros women's national team arrived in Ijebu-Ode on Monday night. They were set to hold their first training session in Ikenne-Remo on Tuesday evening.
The Falcons trained on Monday with players like Christiana Uzoma, Farida Abdulwahab, Sandra John, Tumininu Adeshina, Valentina Uroko, Glory Edet, Shukurat Oladipo, Glory Ogbonna, Favour Omenazu, Joy Igbokwe, Fatimoh Solaty, and Suliat Abideen also in camp.
