Tems to Produce Soundtrack for 'Children of Blood and Bone'

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, is now the executive music producer for the soundtrack of Children of Blood and Bone. Her manager confirmed she will also add three new songs to the much-anticipated fantasy movie.

The news came out on Tuesday from Wilson Morales, the founder of BlackFilmandTV. He shared exciting details from the film’s trailer launch in New York City.

Morales said that director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced that Tems would not only handle the film’s soundtrack but also provide three original tracks. He wrote, "At the trailer launch event in New York City for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming epic fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone, director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced that singer Tems will executive music produce and curate the soundtrack for the film. She also contributed three songs. Burna Boy is coming on board as the executive music consultant."

Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, later confirmed this news in a post on X. He wrote, "Executive Music Producer & Curator of the Children of Blood and Bone soundtrack. Our very own @temsbaby. Three brand new Tems songs. Coming soon."

This announcement followed the release of the film’s first official trailer. Fans got to see Nigerian singer Ayra Starr in her acting debut.

Ayra plays an undisclosed role in the film, which is based on Tomi Adeyemi’s popular novel. She previously said this is her first major acting job.

Tems’ popular song, Me & U, also plays a big part in the film's first teaser.

The Paramount Pictures film, based on the bestselling fantasy book, features a star-studded cast. This includes Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lashana Lynch, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ayra Starr, and Damson Idris.

Gina Prince-Bythewood directs the film, which is set to hit theaters on January 15, 2027.
