A trader named Alhaji Mustapha Musa was reportedly killed by suspected robbers at his home behind Niger Motel in Suleja, Niger State. A police report shared with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday confirmed that the incident was reported at the A Division police station in Suleja. The attackers invaded the victim’s house around 3 am on Sunday, stabbed him, and stole his mobile phones and motorcycle. Police officers went to the scene and took the body to General Hospital, Suleja. NAN also noted that the deceased was a trader at Babangida Modern Market in Suleja.
A visit to the deceased’s home revealed that he left behind three wives and 11 children. Amina Mohammed, the first wife, told NAN that she heard her husband screaming until his voice suddenly stopped. The second wife, who was in the room where the attack happened, was taken to the hospital after the incident. Jamila Usman, a sister to one of the wives, said that three men entered the house, but she could not say if others were waiting outside.
Jamila explained that the victim tried to give the robbers money, but they refused. Instead, they slit his stomach and killed him. "They did not leave until they confirmed that he was dead. They took his two phones, one of the wives’ phones, his ATM card, and motorcycle," she said. The police announced that they are investigating the case to catch the attackers and bring them to justice.
