President Bola Tinubu has told security forces to step up their efforts to rescue everyone who has been kidnapped. He also wants them to wipe out terrorist and bandit camps across Nigeria.

The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, shared this news while speaking to reporters after a meeting with the President at the State House in Abuja.

He mentioned that the meeting looked into the country’s security situation. They paid special attention to the upcoming elections. The minister said the President is determined to make sure the elections are peaceful, free, fair, and credible.

According to the minister, security agencies must provide enough protection for Nigerians so they can vote without fear or intimidation.

He assured everyone that security personnel would act professionally and stay neutral. This means all political parties and candidates will get equal chances during the elections.

The minister also addressed rumors about underage recruits joining the armed forces. He stated that the military follows strict recruitment standards.

Mr Musa explained that the federal government is working to boost the abilities of security agencies. This includes recruiting more staff, training, and buying new equipment like aircraft and helicopters that the President is expected to unveil soon.

He added that the recent salary raise for the armed forces shows the President's commitment to improving their welfare. The welfare of other security agencies is also being looked into.

The defence minister urged Nigerians to help security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities and any misconduct by security personnel. He stressed that keeping peace and security is a job for everyone.
