A strong team from the presidency has arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. This visit follows the abduction of students and teachers in Esiele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area.
The team is led by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President. Other members include National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector-General of Police Tunde Disu, Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa, Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe, and Special Adviser on Public Communications Sunday Dare.
They plan to visit the affected areas where armed men attacked Baptist Nursery and Primary School and other sites. About 46 pupils and teachers were kidnapped during the raid.
This incident has raised serious concerns across the country. According to Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, President Bola Tinubu has launched coordinated efforts to free the victims and catch the attackers.
โA powerful Presidential Delegation just arrived Ogbomoso en route to the villages of Esiele and Yawota where armed men simultaneously raided Baptist Nursery and Primary schools seizing about 46 pupils and teachers,โ Dare shared in a post on X on Sunday.
Dare also mentioned that the President has instructed security agencies to step up rescue operations and make sure the culprits face justice.
This visit comes as worry grows among residents and families of the kidnapped individuals. They continue to urge both the Federal and Oyo State Governments to ensure the safe return of their loved ones.
Security agencies have not yet given an official update on where the abductees are, but reports say that rescue efforts are ongoing.
