More than 400 of the world's best artistic gymnasts from 84 countries will compete at the 54th World Championships in Rotterdam from October 20 to 25. They will fight for qualification spots for the 2028 Olympics, and you can catch the action live on the BBC.

This year's competition is especially important because the top three nations in each team event will secure places at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

China and Japan's men's teams are favorites, while Great Britain recently won the European title in August with an impressive performance and could be in the running for a medal.

The USA women have dominated team finals since 2011. They will rely on the experience of Skye Blakely, who is competing in her fourth World Championships. This will be the first senior World Championships for her teammates, including Olympic team gold medallist Hezly Rivera.

Russian Team Competing Under Neutral Status

The Russian team is competing under neutral status and are the European women's gold medallists. However, reigning world all-around champion Angelina Melnikova was one of three female gymnasts denied a visa to compete in Rotterdam.

Great Britain finished fourth at the last Olympics and Europeans. They are led by multiple major medallist Alice Kinsella, just 13 months after she became a mother.

Reigning champion Daiki Hashimoto from Japan is aiming for his fourth consecutive men's all-around world title. Algerian Kaylia Nemour has a great chance to become the first African winner in the women's event. Brazilian star Rebeca Andrade is competing at a major global championship for the first time since her four-medal success at the 2024 Olympics, where she won gold on the floor.
