Many people died in Sokoto State as the area faced its second attack in just 48 hours. This latest incident took place early on Sunday when armed men raided a village in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses said the attackers, who are believed to be bandits, stormed the village, firing shots randomly and burning houses.
The attack resulted in many residents losing their lives, with several others injured. Local sources mentioned that the attackers arrived on motorcycles and targeted the community, which has suffered from such violence before. The situation has created panic among the villagers, leading many to escape to nearby towns to find safety.
This wave of violence follows another attack on Friday, where several people lost their lives in a similar raid within the same local government area. The ongoing attacks have raised serious concerns about safety in Sokoto State. Residents are now calling for more military presence to protect them from the bandits.
Authorities have spoken out against these attacks and vowed to take steps to bring peace back to the affected areas. But the ongoing insecurity remains a big problem for the residents, who live in fear of more attacks.
