Truck runs over VIO officer in Ondo

A Vehicle Inspection Officer has been killed by a truck near Mega Primary School on Hospital Road in Akure, Ondo State.

A video shared by Crest FM, a radio station in Akure, shows residents shouting after the tragic incident on Friday.

Eyewitnesses said the officer tried to stop the truck, which was moving fast, but he was unable to do so before it hit him.

The officer ended up trapped under the trailer after the truck ran over him, which left those nearby in shock.

The video captured the panic of some of the officer's colleagues as they watched the incident happen. People rushed to the scene, shouting and gathering around.

Details about what happened before the officer attempted to stop the truck are still unclear.
