Africa’s Global Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc is hosting its latest UBA Business Series. The event will focus on how businesses can turn customer feedback into technology that meets Africa’s real needs.
The event is set for Thursday, 16 July 2026 at 11:00 a.m. (WAT). The theme is “Building for Africa’s Realities: Turning Consumer Feedback into Technology-Driven Solutions.” Founders, investors, and builders will come together to discuss creating products that fit African conditions instead of just copying solutions from elsewhere.
People can join virtually. The session will stream live on UBA’s digital platforms, including the Group’s YouTube channel. Interested individuals can follow the conversation on the bank’s official channels online.
The event will have speakers with hands-on experience in African markets. This includes rapper and entrepreneur M I Abaga, Ashim Egunjobi, co-founder of Octerra Capital, and Femi Aluko, co-founder and CEO of Chowdeck. Media entrepreneur Adaora Mbelu will host the discussion.
Panelists will share their personal stories and views on building consumer platforms. They will talk about supporting the founders behind these platforms and staying close to customers in a fast-changing market.
Ahead of the event, UBA’s Group Head of Brands, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said this edition shows the bank’s support for entrepreneurs and businesses driving Africa’s growth.
“The best African businesses are not guessing what their customers want, they are listening, adapting and building accordingly,” Ladipo said.
“Through this edition of the UBA Business Series, we want to put that discipline within reach of every entrepreneur. We aim to create a platform for honest talks about product, technology, and growth. When our businesses build for Africa’s realities, the whole continent benefits.”
The quarterly UBA Business Series has become a key platform for sharing knowledge. It helps entrepreneurs, professionals, and business leaders with insights, tools, and strategies to build sustainable businesses and deal with a changing business environment.
With over 25,000 employees and more than 45 million customers worldwide, UBA is one of the biggest employers in Africa’s financial sector. The bank operates in 20 African countries, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and the United Arab Emirates. It provides retail, commercial, and institutional banking services while promoting financial inclusion through innovative technology.
