Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has given a positive update on his recovery from injury. He said he could join Valencia's team training soon, as long as his latest medical check goes well.

The Nigerian forward has been out since he got injured in September, just before Valencia played FC Barcelona. This injury has interrupted his good start to the season.

Sadiq scored his first goal of the season against Deportivo La Coruña. After that, he could not play in five league matches against Barcelona, Sevilla, Alavés, Real Sociedad, and Racing Santander.

The 29-year-old believes he is getting closer to rejoining his teammates. He spoke to the media at a club event and mentioned he would have more tests on Thursday to see if he can start training again.

"Yes, I think I’m almost back. Just a few more steps before I rejoin the team," Sadiq said, as reported by AS.

"Tomorrow (Thursday) I have to have some tests done and, if everything goes as planned, I think it will be very soon."

This update is good news for Valencia, who want Sadiq back as they try to turn their season around. His return would also mean he can work with new manager Javier Aguirre for the first time since he took over.

Sadiq shared his thoughts on the mood in the Valencia dressing room. He praised Aguirre and his efforts to create a good atmosphere among the players.

The striker said they are taking things step by step while focusing on achieving the club’s goals.

"We’re doing well. We’re trying to bring a lot of positivity, as you saw in the last match," he said.

"We’re taking it one step at a time, and we all support the new coach. Yes, I’ve spoken to him.

"He told me to get well soon and that he’s waiting for me because he knows what I can contribute to the team."

Aguirre’s message seems to have made Sadiq feel more assured about his role when he gets back to full fitness. The coach is eager to have him back, showing that the forward is still part of Valencia’s plans as they aim for better results.

Having missed the start of Aguirre’s time at the club, Sadiq is eager to make up for lost time and show his worth when he gets the all-clear to return.

Right now, his main focus is to finish his recovery without rushing back too soon. The tests on Thursday will help him know his progress and when he can get back to training.

Even while he is away, Sadiq believes the club's goal is clear: to help Valencia get back to where they belong.

He noted that this goal is not just about individual players, but that everyone in the squad has a role to play in lifting the club’s position.

"The goal is to take Valencia to where it deserves to be. That’s not just my goal, but the goal of all the players," he said.

Sadiq now hopes his recovery goes as planned. He wants to return to the pitch and start working with Aguirre. After a good start to the season before his injury, he has a chance to regain his form and fit into the new manager’s plans.

For Valencia, having him back will give them another option in attack as they chase their ambitions. For Sadiq, the next step is clear: pass his medical checks, return to training, and make his comeback happen.
