The United States Mission in Nigeria has opened applications for the 2026 EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Programme. This program aims to help talented Nigerian students who need financial support to study in the United States.
In a notice on the US Embassy website, EducationUSA stated that the program focuses on students with excellent academic records, leadership skills, and a dedication to community service. These students may not have enough money to cover the costs of applying to US universities.
"OFP is designed to support high-achieving students with strong academic performance and leadership potential to pursue US higher education opportunities successfully," the announcement said.
The program also emphasizes US goals for secure and lawful student participation in US universities. It ensures that students understand how to use their student visas properly and follow US immigration rules.
How to apply
The announcement explained that students who want to apply can do so through the EducationUSA Nigeria portal. Applications opened on June 15 and will close on June 30.
