A member of the House of Representatives, Kafilat Ogbara, has caught people's attention after she refused to shake hands with Mayor Dele Oshinowo. Oshinowo defeated her in the All Progressives Congress primary for Kosofe Federal Constituency.
This incident happened at the first Seyi Tinubu Colloquium in Lagos. Oshinowo, who is a former Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, approached Ogbara and reached out his hand to greet her.
In a video of the meeting, Ogbara stays seated and turns away as Oshinowo tries to shake her hand. She is heard saying, “Welldone, how are you? I cannot shake you.”
Oshinowo then shows a surprised reaction before he walks away. This incident comes months after Oshinowo won the APC primary in May 2026. He became the party’s candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives for the 2027 general election.
According to the results, Oshinowo got 18,614 votes, beating other candidates in the race. Ogbara’s loss was a big change in the political scene for the constituency. She currently represents Kosofe in the House of Representatives.
The two politicians have also had past disagreements. They had disputes in 2025 over the demolition of Owode-Onirin market. This latest encounter has drawn attention as political tensions continue in Kosofe after the APC primary.
Oshinowo is set to represent the party in the constituency for the 2027 election, pending the necessary electoral processes.
