Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has appointed Shehu Baraya as the new Head of Service. This follows the retirement of the previous office holder, Yakubu Haidara.
The announcement came in a statement on Thursday in Gusau. Abubakar Nakwada, the Secretary to the State Government, shared the news.
Before this appointment, Mr Baraya was the Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara Civil Service Commission. He steps into this role after Mr Haidara's retirement from the State Civil Service, where he served for many years.
Mr Baraya is a well-respected civil servant. He has a lot of experience in public administration and has held positions as permanent secretary in various ministries.
Governor Lawal thanked Mr Haidara for his hard work and dedication to the State Civil Service. He wished him a happy and fulfilling life after service.
The governor urged the new Head of Service to use his experience to enhance professionalism, boost discipline, and improve productivity in the Civil Service.
The new appointment takes effect immediately.
