Access Holdings Plc has named Ifedayo Orimoloye as the new Executive Director for Risk Management at Access Bank Plc.

The company announced this in a regulatory filing signed by Sunday Ekwochi, the Group Company Secretary, on Friday. This appointment has received approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and will start on 21 September.

Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, the Group Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, spoke about the appointment. He said it would boost the Bank’s risk governance and help it focus on scaling its value.

“Mr. Orimoloye brings strong global risk management experience and strategic leadership to the Board of Access Bank Plc. His appointment will further strengthen the Bank’s risk governance and support its scale to value focus. We are pleased to welcome him and look forward to his contributions to the Group’s long-term value creation agenda,” he said.

The company mentioned that this appointment shows Access Bank’s commitment to good governance, careful risk management, and sustainable value for its stakeholders.

It also said the appointment aligns with relevant regulatory requirements and the Bank’s corporate governance rules.

Mr. Orimoloye is a well-known risk management executive with more than 25 years of experience in major financial institutions across Africa, Europe, and the United States.

His skills include enterprise risk management, capital optimization, credit governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic transformation.

He was the Group Chief Risk Officer of the African Development Bank before this. There, he managed a portfolio of over $40 billion and helped maintain the institution’s AAA ratings from Moody’s Investors Service, S&P Global Ratings, and Fitch Ratings.

He also played important roles in major capital and securitization deals. These included projects aimed at increasing access to renewable energy across Africa.

Before this, Mr. Orimoloye worked in senior risk positions at Sterling Bank Plc, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Wells Fargo Bank, HSBC, and Citigroup. He led risk transformation, portfolio management, and governance projects in various markets.

He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Finance, and an MBA in Finance from California State University, Hayward.
