Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has stated that four years is not enough for President Bola Tinubu’s plans to succeed. He encouraged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Adeleke spoke on Wednesday during the launch of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.
"We must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough," he said. "That is why I’m here to throw my weight."
Adeleke, who is often called "the dancing governor", expressed confidence about the upcoming elections. He said, "I can already feel the victory coming in 2027."
"Nobody can stop this movement," he told the crowd. "We’re going to sing, we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock," he added.
He mentioned that Nigerians want action and less talk. "We don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine. Let us rise and make sure our president comes back for the second time," he said.
Adeleke urged everyone to pray for the President. "If he succeeds, we all succeed. And I know by the special grace of God, we shall get there."
Adeleke was appointed as the coordinator of Tinubu’s campaign in Osun in a revised list released on Tuesday, just a day before the launch.
At the event, the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, referred to the hall as a "rainbow coalition" of different political parties coming together.
Adeleke leads Osun State under the Accord Party.
The campaign council was set up on August 22, with Tinubu as chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman, former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary.
The APC will kick off its campaign in Kaduna on October 24.
The presidential election is set for January 16, 2027, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
