The Forum of State Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress, which includes chairmen from the party’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election for a second term as governor of Ekiti State.
The chairmen said Oyebanji’s win in the June 20, 2026, governorship election shows strong support for his first term and reflects the people's wish for more of his developmental work.
Oyebanji emerged victorious after defeating all his opponents in the 177 wards and the 16 local government areas of the state.
The forum released a statement from its Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday. They praised the people of Ekiti for sticking with the progressive party to benefit from President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiatives.
The APC chairmen called the victory “a well-deserved feat and a confirmation of the people’s trust and confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership quality.”
The statement said, “We write to express our hearty congratulations to you on your re-election as governor of Ekiti State for another four-year term. This is a well-deserved feat and a confirmation of the people’s trust and confidence in your leadership.
“The fact that Ekiti people stood by you to break the jinx of not having two consecutive terms shows that they love you and cherish your programmes.
“They gave you 85 per cent of the votes and victory in all 16 local government areas to tell the world that they still want more of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s developmental strides.
