Apostle Sam Pamilerin of Elijah Generation Church has said sorry after several women from his church accused him of sexual misconduct.

The women shared leaked WhatsApp messages. They claimed Mr Pamilerin had sexual relationships with female church members from 2019 to 2026, including shortly before his wedding.

According to the women, his alleged actions led some members to leave the church. Others stayed, thinking he had changed, only to find out he continued his alleged behaviour.

The women also said the cleric showed little remorse and acted like no one could hold him accountable. They were worried about the safety of women in his church, claiming he had manipulated and brainwashed some of them.

Mr Pamilerin admitted to some of the allegations. He shared a statement on his Facebook page on Monday. He confessed that he had sexual relations with some women before his wedding.

He said he has stepped back from his ministerial duties to seek advice and deal with issues from his past.

He said: “Over the past few weeks, I have stepped back from public ministry and social media to reflect, seek counsel, and honestly address matters from my past. Before I was married, I was involved in sexual relationships with women that I deeply regret.

“Although these events occurred before my marriage, I acknowledge that my actions were wrong and fell short of the standards of holiness, integrity, and self-control I am called to uphold as a Christian and minister of the Gospel.”

Taking responsibility

Mr Pamilerin took responsibility for his actions and said he is sorry.

He added that he had apologised to his wife, family, church, and everyone who looked up to him for spiritual guidance.

He mentioned that he has sought God’s guidance and talked to pastoral and professional advisers.

“I take full responsibility for my actions and sincerely apologise to the women involved for any hurt, disappointment, or harm I may have caused. I also apologise to my wife, my family, my church, my colleagues, and everyone who has trusted me and looked to me for spiritual leadership.

“I am not making excuses for what happened or trying to downplay it because it occurred before my marriage. I have been seeking God, receiving pastoral and professional counsel, examining my conduct honestly, and taking necessary steps toward genuine repentance and accountability,” said Mr Pamilerin.

Accepting the consequences

He expressed deep regret for his actions and promised to act with more integrity, responsibility, and accountability moving forward.

Mr Pamilerin said he is ready to face the consequences of his actions and remain under relevant spiritual, pastoral, and professional accountability.

“I recognise that repentance is shown not just through words, but through changed behaviour, accountability, and a willingness to accept the consequences of one’s actions. I will continue to submit myself to appropriate spiritual, pastoral, and professional accountability throughout this process.

“I ask for prayer, not that my actions would be excused, but that I would have the humility and courage to face them honestly, make amends where appropriate, protect those affected, and allow God to produce genuine transformation in my life.”
