Troops from Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA have raided a place where suspected terrorists hide. They killed one suspect and seized a weapon and a motorcycle in Gudu Local Government Area.
This information came from a statement by Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, the spokesperson for the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army. He shared this news on Sunday in Sokoto.
According to Mr. Osoba, the troops acted based on solid intelligence and moved towards a suspected terrorists’ camp near Karani village.
When they made contact with the armed men, the troops responded with strong fire. They killed one terrorist while the others ran into nearby bushes.
An inspection of the camp led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle along with ammunition.
“The troops recovered items which include one AK-47 rifle loaded with live ammunition, one operational motorcycle, military camouflage uniforms and various maintenance tools and logistical supplies,” Mr. Osoba said.
The troops also carried out clearance operations in the nearby forest to control the area and stop those who fled from moving freely.
