The operations took place between September 30 and October 1, 2026. They focused on the Boima area in Gombi Local Government Area and other locations within Sector 4.
In Boima, soldiers ambushed a group of terrorists, killing 16 of them. After the attack, they searched the area and found three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun, six magazines for AK-47s, and a belt of pump-action cartridges.
Also, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI conducted a precise air strike on October 1. This followed intelligence that revealed about 16 terrorists were gathered with 15 motorcycles under a tree in Sector 4.
The military stated that the target was hit at around 5:30 a.m. After the strike, a damage assessment showed that the target was destroyed. Some terrorists who survived reportedly ran away from the area.
In another development, troops successfully repelled attacks on military bases at 226 Battalion in Garkida and 232 Battalion in Garaha. The attackers were forced to retreat after the soldiers responded.
The military reported that three soldiers died during the fighting. The wounded soldiers were evacuated and are now getting medical care and are in stable condition.
Follow-up operations are ongoing in the affected areas. The Theatre Command said these operations are part of efforts to improve coordination between land and air forces. They are working to limit terrorists’ activities in the North East.
The military also asked the public to stay alert and share timely information with security agencies as operations continue.
