Arsenal's Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard celebrated with his teammates after scoring during the English FA Community Shield match against Manchester City. This match took place at The Principality Stadium in Cardiff, South Wales on August 16, 2026.
Odegaard warned other teams that Arsenal, the Premier League champions, want to “win everything” after their strong start to the season with a 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Community Shield.
As captain, Odegaard had a standout performance, finishing the match with a goal. This victory marks a great beginning for Arsenal's season.
Riccardo Calafiori scored the first goal for Arsenal just 24 seconds into the match. Kai Havertz also contributed with a goal before halftime, helping to secure the win in this annual football opener.
Just four months ago, Odegaard led Arsenal to their first Premier League title since 2004. They finished seven points ahead of second-place City.
Odegaard believes that their strong performance against City, who now have Enzo Maresca as manager instead of Pep Guardiola, shows that Arsenal still has the drive to win more trophies.
“We played some brilliant football. Great performance and a great way to start the season,” he said.
“We showed our level today. We showed we’re ready. We’re serious and we want to do it again. We want to attack it. We want to do it again.
“When you get a taste of how nice it is you want to do it again. We want to win everything.”
Arsenal is seen as the favorite to win the title again this year. They will start their Premier League campaign at home against promoted Coventry on August 21.
