Arsenal has matched Manchester City on 21 points at the top of the Premier League after defeating Everton 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. Goals from Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes gave Arsenal the win.

Konsa scored his first goal for Arsenal in the seventh minute. Gabriel added another in the 68th minute, heading the ball in on his 200th Premier League appearance.

Punch Online reports that this win puts Arsenal and City level after both teams have played eight matches, each with one loss.

The victory came after Manchester City lost to Aston Villa earlier that day. Arsenal has won seven of their first eight league games. They still trail City on goal difference.

The match started with rain at the Emirates. Martin Odegaard’s corner was flicked towards goal by Gabriel. Everton's goalkeeper Jordan Pickford pushed it onto the crossbar, but Konsa was quick to react and scored from the rebound.

Everton tried to respond through James Garner, who had a low shot saved by David Raya. Tyrqiue George also tested Arsenal with a curling shot that went wide after a deflection.

Arsenal kept up the pressure. Noni Madueke had two chances to increase the lead. He first shot wide after getting past his defender, then hit the side netting with a first-time shot after a nice move.

Odegaard was also close to scoring after dribbling past several Everton players. But Vitalii Mykolenko made a crucial sliding block to stop the Arsenal captain.

Even with Arsenal dominating, Everton threatened before halftime. A poor header by Ben White let Thierno Barry have a chance, but Raya was quick to react and stopped the danger.

The second half had fewer clear chances until Arsenal doubled their lead in the 68th minute. White, playing his 200th match for Arsenal, evaded the offside trap and delivered a cross to the far post. Gabriel jumped high to head the ball past Pickford, securing the win.

Everton nearly made it tense at the end when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s header went just wide. But Arsenal held on for their eighth straight home win.

The result added to Everton's tough history at Arsenal, with the Toffees winning only once in their last 31 visits to north London.

Next, Arsenal will face fourth-tier Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. They will then play against Liverpool in the Premier League the following Sunday.

After that, the club will travel to Slavia Prague for a Champions League match on Wednesday, November 4.
