Arsenal has moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League after captain Martin Ødegaard scored a late goal. The Gunners won 1-0 against Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Norwegian midfielder found the net in the 72nd minute. He reacted quickly after Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis could not hold onto Noni Madueke’s shot, breaking Hull’s defense.

This win makes it five straight league victories for Arsenal and keeps their perfect home record, according to a post-match report on the Arsenal website.

Hull City made things tough for Arsenal, creating chances early in the game and frustrating the home side for most of the match. John Egan nearly gave Hull the lead when he headed just wide from a corner. Former Arsenal player Semi Ajayi also tested David Raya with a header.

Arsenal struggled to find clear chances in the first half. Declan Rice shot wide, and Kai Havertz could not control Ødegaard’s pass to get a shot off. The hosts also had a penalty claim turned down before halftime. Havertz was pulled down by a Hull defender in the box, but after checking the monitor, referee Farai Hallam deemed him offside.

After the break, Arsenal increased their pressure. Madueke forced a save from Tzolakis, and Ødegaard took advantage of the goalkeeper’s mistake on the follow-up shot. The Gunners were looking for a second goal, but Madueke was stopped by Tzolakis when he tried to go around him. His follow-up attempt was cleared off the line.

Arsenal managed to hold on for another clean sheet, making it their seventh in the Premier League this season. This win strengthens their position at the top of the table.

Most of the squad will now join their national teams for the international break. Arsenal will return to league action against Newcastle United on November 21. They will also face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on November 24.
