B-Red believes Nigeria will improve if his dad becomes President

Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke, known as B-Red, has said Nigeria would see major changes if his father, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, becomes President.

B-Red shared this in a 2023 chat on the Echoroom podcast, which went viral on social media on Tuesday.

His comment came shortly after Adeleke won the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election for a second term. The governor, who ran under the Accord Party, got 511,067 votes to beat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes.

In the interview that resurfaced, B-Red was asked if he believed his father could one day be President of Nigeria. B-Red replied that he did not want his father to go for the presidency because of the stress it could bring to their family.

He said, “People are talking about it, but I don’t want him to be. I don’t want no stress on me, your daddy, I beg. Your father is the president; he did not do this.”

B-Red described his dad as kind and said he believes his father would focus on improving the lives of Nigerians if he became President.

“But I know my dad, he has such a good heart, but if he does become the president, this country go change oh,” he said.

He added that Adeleke would prioritize the needs of Nigerians instead of using public office to make himself rich.

“It will choke in every aspect. Because he’s not, he’s going to do everything that people want him to do. You know, I’ve been rich for a long time, so we’re not coming here to steal money, bro. I’m coming here to help people, you understand?” he said.
