Balogun, who chose to play for the United States instead of England, showed his skills in Seattle. He was active throughout the match, with 33 touches, nine completed passes, three duels won, and two shots on goal. This win marked the United States' second straight victory in Group D.
With this result, the United States secured a spot in the Round of 32 and claimed the top position in their group. This was confirmed after Paraguay beat Türkiye 1-0 later that day.
The team kept impressing even without their injured captain, Christian Pulisic. Their record now shows 44 wins, 16 draws, and 15 losses when Pulisic is not on the field. This victory was also only the second time the United States has won their first two matches in a World Cup.
