Barcelona has officially offered Borussia Dortmund a bid for winger Karim Adeyemi. Transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Gerard Romero shared this news.
Romano tweeted on Thursday that talks are ongoing between the two teams. He mentioned that Adeyemi is eager to join Barcelona.
“Karim Adeyemi agreed terms with Barcelona and informed BVB he only wants a Barça move,” Romano wrote.
He also said that Adeyemi’s contract runs until June 2027, and he has no plans to sign a new deal with Dortmund. Romano confirmed that Barcelona has made their offer and is waiting for Dortmund's response.
This development comes after Barcelona signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. It shows that Barcelona is still looking to strengthen their attack this summer.
Adeyemi, who is 24 years old, missed out on Germany’s World Cup squad due to injury. Despite this, he has been a regular player for the national team in the last few years.
Last season, he scored 10 goals for Dortmund and provided several assists. He is known as one of the fastest players in European football.
Interest in Adeyemi arises amid questions about Raphinha's future at Barcelona. Barca Blaugranes reported that Raphinha’s World Cup journey is over. This gives him time to think about a move to Saudi Arabia. The report also wondered if Adeyemi's potential arrival relates to Barcelona's plans regarding Raphinha.
Dortmund has not yet publicly responded to Barcelona's bid.
