BetCorrect took its social gaming campaign to the streets of Lagos. They engaged bettors in five communities: Iyana-Ipaja, Agege, Mushin, Oshodi, and Ikeja. The goal was to get real reactions to the platform’s features.

Instead of making guesses about what bettors want, the BetCorrect team went to bus stops, viewing centres, and roadside kiosks. These are the usual spots where football debates happen, like offside calls and the Messi-Ronaldo argument. They showed the app and collected honest feedback.

The first feature they introduced lets users see other bettors’ wagers directly on the platform. This means no more need to screenshot booking codes and share them on Telegram groups, hoping an old winning slip is real.

At a barbing salon in Agege, Tobi, a 21-year-old bettor, said this feature was way better than the Telegram method. He argued that fake codes were common in those groups, with users reposting old winning slips as if they were new. Tobi preferred seeing a bettor’s actual account and real wins before copying any prediction.

In Iyana-Ipaja, Chidinma, a 24-year-old university student, shared a similar view. She called herself a casual bettor and said she did not want to join many groups to find a good tipster. She liked being able to follow a bettor directly and see their results over time.

The platform’s follow feature, which lets users build a following based on their betting history, got a lot of excitement. This was especially true among younger bettors in Oshodi and Mushin.

At Bolade bus stop in Oshodi, a crowd gathered as brand ambassadors showed off the app. Emeka, a bettor in his mid-20s, said the feature was like content creation. He believed that consistent winners deserve a following to prove their football knowledge.

An older bettor selling phone accessories nearby had a different take. Alhaji Musa, a bettor in his early 40s from Mushin, said he had been betting since the days of paper slips. He thought the real value of the feature was in checking a person’s track record instead of just trusting whoever talks the loudest.

The peer-to-peer feature, which lets users challenge each other directly without a bookmaker, got the best reaction of the campaign. In Ikeja’s Computer Village, a group of friends was already arguing about the World Cup when the team arrived.

Jate, a bettor in his early 40s, said a friend kept saying that Argentina would win the World Cup because Lionel Messi was the best. He added that the feature would help them settle their argument directly instead of continuing to fight.

Chioma, a store secretary in her mid-30s, stopped to watch the demonstration. She said the appeal of the feature was clear, noting that betting money directly against a friend was more exciting than betting against a platform.

BetCorrect’s profile feature tracks a user’s betting history and results. This resonated well with bettors who take their football knowledge seriously. In Agege, a man watching the demonstration said the feature would help settle arguments about who really knows football. A clear record of correct predictions would leave no room for doubt.

Alhaji Musa called the feature practical. He compared it to a CV for betting, which lets others check a person’s knowledge without needing to take their word.

The last feature they showed was discovery. This feature helps find bettors who win consistently instead of those just loud on social media or in group chats. In Iyana-Ipaja, Chidinma said many people in Lagos claimed to be tipsters without proof. She added that a feature showing genuinely successful bettors would save punters from searching through many Telegram groups.

Across the five communities and three generations of bettors, BetCorrect found a common theme. People are tired of relying on paid Telegram VIP channels, shared screenshots, and anonymous tipsters. They prefer verifiable track records, whether through a real profile, a real following, or a direct challenge against someone they know.

Interested users can sign up on BetCorrect or download the app from the Google Play Store or App Store.
