Body of a man discovered mutilated in Plateau market area

Panic hit the people of Pankshin community in Plateau State after a man was found dead behind Monday Market on Tuesday.

The body was discovered early Tuesday morning. This news confused many as they saw that parts of the man's body had been cut off.

Some locals, who spoke to PUNCH Metro in Jos on Tuesday, said they did not know who the man was or how he died.

A resident named Johnson Dawul said, “We woke up this morning to see the corpse lying behind the Monday Market. It was a shocking sight. What is even more disturbing is that some parts of his body, including his penis, were cut off by those who killed him.”

Another local added, “Nobody knows who the man is and nobody knows what happened to him. When we saw the body, we immediately alerted security personnel, who arrived in a police vehicle and evacuated the corpse.”

Security operatives took the remains of the deceased away. They also began an investigation to find out what happened and who did this.

When we reached out to the Plateau State Police Command, SP Alfred Alabo had not yet replied to questions about the incident at the time of this report.
