Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign due to his great performances for Manchester United.
The club shared the news on Saturday, calling Fernandes a key player in United’s top-three finish.
“Our skipper has had an outstanding campaign. His performances have been a major reason behind the team’s top-three finish and qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League under Michael Carrick,” the club said.
Fernandes scored eight league goals and made 20 assists this season. He matched the Premier League single-season assist record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
The Portuguese midfielder has a chance to break the record when United plays Brighton & Hove Albion in their last league game on Sunday.
Fans and a panel of football experts voted to decide the award.
Earlier, Fernandes won Manchester United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the fifth time. He was also named Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association.
He was nominated for the award alongside Gabriel Magalhães, David Raya, Declan Rice, Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Igor Thiago.
Fernandes is now the seventh Manchester United player to win this award since it started in the 1994/95 season.
