Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been named the Premier League Signing of the Season after a great debut year in England’s top league.
A post on the Premier League’s X page on Monday announced the news. The 23-year-old Belgian keeper joined United from Royal Antwerp last summer. He won the award after a vote by fans, players, and managers, beating tough competition.
Lammens quickly became one of the best players in the league. He made a number of impressive saves that helped United throughout the season. His consistency and strong presence in goal made him an important player at Old Trafford.
Reacting to the award, Lammens said he felt honored to be recognized.
“It is a special feeling to win this award in my first season in the Premier League. I want to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, and the supporters for their belief in me throughout the campaign,” he said.
The goalkeeper also highlighted his teammates, saying the award was a team achievement.
“Individual awards are always nice, but football is a team sport. This recognition would not have been possible without the players around me and everyone working behind the scenes at the club,” he added.
Manchester United's manager praised Lammens’ impact since he joined the team.
“Senne has been outstanding from the moment he arrived. His professionalism, work ethic, and performances have been exceptional, and he fully deserves this recognition,” the manager said.
Lammens’ award marks a fantastic first season in England and shows his rising status as one of the Premier League’s most promising goalkeepers.
