The City Boy Movement of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State is set to deliver one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the January 2027 presidential election.

Oluwafemi Ayejusunle, the state director of the movement, made this promise on Tuesday during a campaign rally in Ikare-Akoko, located in the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.

He explained that the rally aimed to educate residents about the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards and their active participation in the upcoming election.

Ayejusunle stated, "Today’s gathering brings together members of the City Boy Movement and stakeholders at the state level. We are here to sensitise our people and ensure that they collect their Permanent Voter Cards to eventually translate into votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu."

He noted that Ondo State has about 2.5 million registered voters. In the last election, they recorded 369,000 votes for Asiwaju. Unfortunately, around 1.9 million registered voters did not cast their votes.

"So, we are doing everything possible to ensure that these undecided voters are mobilised to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. That is part of the reason for the movement and one of the activities that brought us here today," Ayejusunle added.

He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances in the upcoming election. Ayejusunle believes Nigerians are now more aware of the administration's actions and will reward Tinubu with another term.

"I am very optimistic that he will emerge victorious because Nigerians have seen what he has been doing. This time around, Nigerians are better informed about what is happening in government."

He continued, "They are aware of what he has done and what he intends to do. So, they will not take it for granted. They will ensure that he is re-elected. I am therefore very optimistic that he is going to be re-elected," he declared.

At the rally, Tajudeen Ogun, the Ondo North Senatorial Coordinator of the movement, spoke about the group's efforts to support Tinubu due to what he called the administration’s achievements.

Ogun said, "We gathered here today because we want to see more dividends of democracy. Since 1999, we have not witnessed the level of democratic dividends that we are seeing now."

He added, "Since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office, we have seen a lot of positive developments in Ondo State. Even in Ondo North, we have two substantive ministers who are working, while Ondo State has three substantive ministers. They are all doing well, alongside our other leaders and many other people contributing to the development of the state."

Ogun concluded, "Many of the things we had been yearning for over a long period are now being addressed under President Tinubu. In some cases, we did not even have to ask before the President took action to address our needs."
