Portugal's national team coach Jorge Jesus has chosen not to comment further on Cristiano Ronaldo's recent statement.
On Wednesday morning, as he left for the Portuguese Football Federation headquarters, journalists asked him about Ronaldo's long message regarding their disagreement. Jesus confirmed he had seen what the forward wrote.
In a post by Fabrizio Romano on X, Jesus said, "I read the statement and now, like I do every day, I’m going to the Federation headquarters to work, to think about the Portuguese national team. I have nothing more to say."
Ronaldo's statement, which he shared on Tuesday, explained his side of the story about leaving the national team camp during the recent international break.
The 41-year-old player claimed that Jesus broke his promise twice. First, he was not substituted into the match against Norway after warming up. Second, he said Jesus did not provide the agreed talking points at a later press conference.
Jesus has said before that there is no serious problem between them and that Ronaldo can still be picked for upcoming matches.
