Chukwudi Dimkpa, the new President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria, has shared a bold plan to improve Nigerian karate. His goal is to ensure growth, unity, and success for the country in international competitions.
In his first message as president, Dimkpa highlighted key actions. He plans to hold the first meeting of the new board to decide the federation’s direction. He also wants to bring together the Nigerian karate community by engaging all stakeholders.
Upcoming Competitions
As part of his plan, the federation will start preparing for Nigeria’s participation in the upcoming Japanese Ambassadors Cup, UFAK Championships, and other international events. They will also create a clear path for athlete development, from grassroots to elite levels.
Dimkpa promised to improve the skills of coaches, referees, and technical officials. He wants to implement ongoing education and certification programs to keep Nigeria competitive both in Africa and worldwide.
Collaboration and Growth
He stressed the need to work together with the National Sports Commission, the Union of African Karate Federations, the World Karate Federation, state associations, and development partners. This collaboration will help speed up the growth of karate in Nigeria.
Dimkpa believes that the success of the federation will not just be about winning medals. It will also depend on the strength of its institutions, the quality of its programs, and the opportunities provided for every Nigerian who wants to succeed in karate.
“Our athletes deserve a united Federation. Our coaches deserve an enabling environment. Our officials deserve the support to perform effectively. Above all, Nigeria deserves a Karate Federation that reflects the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and excellence,” he said.
“The future of Nigerian karate begins today,” the president added.
He is confident that with unity and shared commitment, the federation can inspire trust, develop champions, and proudly represent Nigeria in Africa and the world.
