Controversial Nigerian content creator, Ademola Abiodun, known as DJ Chicken, stirred up reactions on social media after he changed his Instagram profile picture to that of Seyi Tinubu. This happened just one day after DJ Chicken was released from custody.

DJ Chicken got out of the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Tuesday after meeting his bail conditions. He also shared a photo of Seyi Tinubu on his Instagram Stories the following day, captioning it, "Hmm ddddy."

In addition, he posted videos showing Seyi Tinubu dancing at an event and another clip with Seyi and his wife. These posts came less than 24 hours after DJ Chicken publicly thanked Seyi Tinubu for his support following his release.

While announcing his freedom on Tuesday, DJ Chicken appeared with his lawyer and said, "I’m back oo, freedom at last. God bless the Nigerian government, God bless Seyi Tinubu, and our president. I love you guys. It is not easy, my fans. People that are free don’t know what God has done for them. Freedom is good."

PUNCH Online reported that DJ Chicken was released after he met the bail conditions set by a Magistrate Court in Ogba, Lagos State. Human rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher Omoyele Sowore also confirmed his release on X, stating that DJ Chicken had reunited with his family, friends, and loved ones.

DJ Chicken was held at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after facing three charges related to the Cybercrimes Act, breach of peace, and alleged threats to kill Seyi. These charges came after a viral video where he claimed that President Tinubu would not win re-election in 2027. He was accused of threatening the President’s son.

After facing public backlash, DJ Chicken retracted his statements, saying they were meant as a joke to gain attention and increase his online following. Despite his apology, he was arrested, charged, and released on bail of N1 million with two sureties of the same amount. The case has been adjourned until August 3, 2026.
