A leader of the All Progressives Congress and the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Project Monitoring, Mr Felix Igboke, has stepped down from his role. He has joined the Peoples Democratic Party.

Igboke made his move official on Sunday at a PDP gathering in Isu, Onicha Local Government Area. The event had many party leaders, executives, and supporters present. He mentioned that he switched parties along with more than 10,000 supporters as the 2027 general elections approach.

He called his return to the PDP a homecoming. He said that his political journey started with this party.

Igboke shared that his choice to return was based on the need to join a political group that can truly represent the interests of the people and support inclusive growth in the state.

“I am happy to return to the political platform that built me. I served as a councillor, development centre coordinator and chairman of Onicha Local Government Area under the same party before I joined the APC,” he stated.

“I am grateful to the PDP family in Ebonyi State, especially the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma-Odii, the incoming governor,” he added.

The state chairman of the PDP, Mr Chukwuma Igwe, welcomed the new members. He said Igboke’s return is a big boost for the party as it gets ready for the 2027 elections.

Igwe mentioned that the PDP has regained strength in the state and is ready to reclaim power in the next election.

He noted that the arrival of thousands of supporters shows growing public trust in the PDP and its leaders.

Also speaking at the event, Mr Eni-Uduma Chima, the PDP candidate for the Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency seat in 2027, said the party is growing quickly across Ebonyi.

Chima is hopeful that this rising support will lead to wins for the PDP in upcoming elections. He urged party members to stay united and work on strengthening the party’s presence at the grassroots level.

The gathering drew many party loyalists, community leaders, and supporters from different areas of the state. They all promised to continue backing the PDP.
