Enyimba has received good news with the return of Joel Ezra and Utum Godswill. Both players are now available for selection when Plateau United visits the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday, October 4. The match kicks off at 4pm.
Defender Ezra had been out for a while due to illness. Last season, he played 27 matches and can move straight back into the starting team.
Goalkeeper Godswill is back after missing three weeks with an injury. He is now fit and training again.
Emmanuel Deutsch’s team wants to build on their 4-2 win against Shooting Stars in midweek. That was their first league win this season. Before that match, they had just one point from five games, with four losses and a goalless draw against Kano Pillars. They sit in 19th place with four points from six matches, having lost 1-0 at home to Inter Lagos on September 20.
Plateau United, also known as the Peace Boys, are coached by Gbenga Ogunbote. They come into this game with 11 points from six matches. They won against Inter Lagos 2-0 in Jos on September 27. Gideon Monday scored in the 56th minute, and Jibrin Ibrahim added another goal in the 76th minute. After losing their first game 2-0 away to Rivers United, they have not lost in their last five matches.
A win for Enyimba would help them move away from the relegation zone. Currently, they are nine points behind the league leaders, Enugu Rangers.
