Manchester City faced a tough match against Coventry on Saturday. Thanks to an Erling Haaland goal, they kept their perfect record in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Tottenham could only manage a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest.

Enzo Maresca is now in charge at Etihad after Pep Guardiola's departure. There have been many changes to the team lately.

One new player, Enzo Fernandez, played a key role in City's first goal. He set up Antoine Semenyo, who crossed for Haaland to score his third goal this season.

Fernandez joined City on transfer deadline day for £125 million, which is $170 million. This transfer matched the British record.

Maresca gave Fernandez a starting spot because Nico O’Reilly got injured during warm-up. Another new signing, Iliman Ndiaye, also made his debut.

City wants to win back the Premier League title after losing it for the last two years, first to Liverpool and then to Arsenal.

Maresca is managing a new team after losing some big names like Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and John Stones.

Along with Fernandez and Ndiaye, City also signed England midfielder Elliot Anderson and Moroccan teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi, who both played on Saturday.

The home team scored the first goal in the 26th minute but could not score again. Frank Lampard’s side will regret their missed chances.

City is now leading the Premier League, winning all three of their matches this season. They are preparing for the Manchester derby next week at Old Trafford.

Tottenham also spent a lot during the summer transfer window. They wanted to avoid the shame of finishing 17th in the last two seasons.

After losses to Brentford and Newcastle, they went to the City Ground. Forest had beaten Spurs badly twice last season. Spurs were still looking for their first Premier League goal this season.

Forest thought they scored midway through the second half due to poor defending, but Neco Williams's goal was ruled out after a VAR check.

This result means Forest, like Spurs, is still looking for their first win this season. Ukrainian forward Mykhailo Mudryk, who just joined Tottenham on loan, came on as a substitute in the 74th minute. This was his first competitive match since November 2024 after serving a doping ban.
