Lawyer, businesswoman, and former Miss Nigeria, Ezinne Akudo, has launched the second season of her podcast, Beyond. This season focuses on personal growth, healing, and dealing with life changes.
The new season kicked off over the weekend at an event in Lagos called “Conversations That Matter.” The event gathered professionals, creatives, and public figures to talk about personal development and mental health.
Some of the notable attendees included rapper Falz, television host Olive Emodi, media personality Idia Aisien, actor Shawn Faqua and his wife, Sharon Ifunanya. Others were Arise News anchor Vimbai Mutinhiri-Ekpenyong, actor Blessing Obasi-Nze, media figure Mojibade Sosanya, sports journalist Kelechi Anyikude, and Senior Pastors of The Logic Church, Apostle Flourish Peters and Pastor Amaka Peters.
At the event, Ms Akudo shared that the podcast aims to offer a safe space for people going through uncertain times in their personal and work lives.
“I realised there was a profound silence surrounding the ‘in-between’ phases of our lives. I created this podcast specifically for those who are trying to get from where they are to where they want to be. It is a haven for anyone feeling stuck and grappling with profound questions about life, purpose, and faith,” she said.
Ms Akudo mentioned that feedback from the first season showed that many people wanted more honest talks about life's struggles. She said the second season will cover topics such as identity, grief, healing, and personal transformation.
The podcast premiered on 19 June and is available on major streaming platforms. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and a live music performance by Tena the Violinist before watching one of the new season’s episodes.
After the screening, there was a fireside chat moderated by Olive Emodi. During this session, Ms Akudo discussed what inspired the new season and took questions from the audience.
The event wrapped up with a musical performance by Khemmiesings and a chance for networking. The second season of Beyond with Ezinne can be streamed on popular platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.
