As Globacom launched its new campaign called Never Settle for Less in Lagos, many in the crowd thought about times when the usual path felt too narrow for their dreams.

The comfort of a stable job that no longer excites them, the fear of starting over, or the temptation to accept what is just okay when something better is possible.

For those who stay where they are and those who take risks, the difference often comes down to the courage to take a chance or to refuse to settle.

This spirit of daring is what Globacom wants to capture in its latest campaign, Never Settle For Less. The message invites Nigerians to challenge limits, strive for excellence, and seek greater opportunities, especially in a world driven by technology and constant change.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, the American essayist and thinker from the 19th Century, said, "nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." This is the message from Glo. It shines through in stories of people who faced uncertainty and chose to keep pushing forward. Guests at the campaign's launch shared experiences that showed how refusing to accept the present as the final chapter can lead to achievement.

Mai Atafo, a fashion entrepreneur, shared how refusing to settle meant leaving a good corporate job. He left his role as brand manager at a big company to build his fashion label. The decision was scary, he admitted. "That decision to not settle was scary, but today it has positioned me as one of the best suit makers in Africa," he said. His journey reflects a truth about ambition: sometimes, progress means giving up what looks like success.

Even with no guarantees and often no sign that the risk will pay off, real change often requires stepping outside comfort zones. Emerson's fellow thinker, Henry David Thoreau, also said, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams." Atafo's story is a good example of this idea.

Dr Reuben Abati, a seasoned journalist and broadcaster at the event, talked about his career built on pushing himself instead of relaxing with past successes. That desire to go further helped him reach the top of his field.

Musician Chike's rise to fame began with a tough reminder that dreams don’t always attract immediate attention. He remembered a concert early in his career that had very few attendees. It would have been easy to see the low turnout as a failure. Instead, one of those present, a Nigerian media personality, offered encouragement. "That gave me the motivation to push forward," Chike said. Now, his shows often sell out.

These stories highlight the deeper meaning of refusing to settle. It doesn't promise instant success, but it shows that even early setbacks shouldn't define the final outcome.

Glo and the Power of Digital

In today's world, technology opens up new possibilities. At the core of Globacom’s campaign is the belief that being digitally connected can turn dreams into action.

“Digital services have become the magic tool to transform lives,” Uche Ogwuda from the Web Sales team said at the launch. He argued that those who understand how telecom services can enable success will see why they should never settle for less.

This message is especially relevant in an economy that thrives on digital engagement. From entrepreneurs to students and small businesses, having reliable internet is no longer just a nice-to-have. Technology boosts ambitions and can determine who learns, creates, and competes.

That’s why Globacom launched the ‘Never Settle for Less’ campaign with four new and improved offerings: Welcome Bonus, Talkmasta Reloaded, Magic Bundles, and the updated Glo Café App.

The Talkmasta Reloaded “6 for 6” plan gives customers six free minutes and 100MB of free data for every six minutes of calls. This is 50MB more in bonus data than before.

The new Welcome Bonus offers new Glo SIM users benefits worth N2,100, including 20 minutes to all networks, 2GB of free data, and a one-month free GloTV Premium subscription.

The Magic Data Bundle is a unique offering in Nigeria, introducing certainty into data purchases. With this, qualifying purchases will come with guaranteed data and a bonus allocation.

“The Magic Bonus Data makes data subscription rewarding because customers know they will always get the guaranteed data purchased, plus an extra Magic Bonus,” Ogwuda explained.

These bundles cost N1,600 and N3,500, with customers getting Magic Bonus Data between 500MB and 12GB based on the bundle. Customers can access these Magic Bundles through the Glo Café App or by dialing *312#.

The Revamped Glo Café App

One exciting part of the product launch is the new Glo Café App, Globacom’s self-service platform. The updated app has a fresh look, better security, and more payment options. Its standout feature is Gloria, an AI-powered voice and text assistant.

Gloria helps customers find answers and offers quickly and can communicate in English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French, and Spanish.

This change shows how the relationship between consumers and technology is evolving. Smartphones are not just for talking anymore; they are now gateways to personalized services and smart help.

Globacom is offering first-time users of the new app 100GB free data, a 100 percent bonus on recharges, and special deals like 10GB for N2,500 and extra 10 percent data on selected bundles.

Embracing the Mindset of Possibility

Ultimately, the Never Settle for Less campaign is about more than just products. Its biggest message is that progress starts with a positive mindset. This idea is captured by the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard when he said, “life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.”

In energetic and entrepreneurial Nigeria, the refusal to settle is part of our national identity. You can see it in young entrepreneurs starting businesses from their homes, artists growing from small gigs to stadium shows, professionals learning new skills, and innovators who always seek to improve existing solutions.

This shows the most important lesson. Refusing to settle is not about being sure of tomorrow. It is about having faith in possibilities and taking the next step, even when things are uncertain.

Progress usually does not start with certainty. It begins when someone decides that good enough is not enough and reaches for more.

As Globacom begins another year, this new campaign invites everyone to demand more from technology, more from opportunities, and, most importantly, more from ourselves.

With its new products, Globacom is set to support customers on their paths to success.
