UFC chief Dana White believes the heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will end before the final round. This fight is set for December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.
In an interview with Sun Boxing, White did not pick a winner but said fans can expect a thrilling heavyweight match and a knockout. “Going to be a great heavyweight fight. I do not see it going the distance. And I am happy that I get to be there live,” White said.
White explained how he got involved in the fight. He said, “Turki wanted me to be a part of this thing. Netflix wanted me to be a part of this thing, and so I am. That is it.”
He added, “If they did not want me to be a part of it, you would not see me trying to fight my way into the AJ-Fury fight. I was asked to do this, and I accepted it.”
White shared that he had some doubts about joining another big boxing project after the long talks about Floyd Mayweather’s fight with Conor McGregor. He praised promoter Eddie Hearn and Joshua for keeping this fight in the UK, despite his own issues with Hearn.
He said the fight could have done well at Madison Square Garden in New York, but he supports the decision to hold it in Cardiff. “There are a lot of different forces involved in an event like this.”
White noted, “With how many tickets are sold in Cardiff, as big as the arena is, it would have done very well at Madison Square Garden too. But you have to credit Eddie and AJ for fighting hard to keep it in the UK. This fight was going to do well wherever it was.”
Fans can watch the fight live on Netflix.
