Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State has appointed 10 Special Advisers and two Deputy Chiefs of Staff. This decision is part of efforts to improve governance and service delivery in the state.

The announcement came in a statement on Monday from Ismaila Misilli, who is the Director-General of Press Affairs. He shared the news on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi.

The appointments are effective from May 1, 2026. They aim to strengthen the governance structure and improve teamwork between government bodies and the communities.

“The appointments align with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s goal to build on his administration’s achievements. They will enhance strategic advisory roles and boost coordination between the government and communities in the state,” the statement explained.

The new Special Advisers include Ahmed Abubakar for Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdulrahman Adamu for Inter-Party Relations, and Dr Ahmed Wali Doho for Education. Others are Saidu Kawuwa Malala for Political and Community Relations (North), Adamu Mohammed Waziri for Special Duties, and Mohammed Shettima Gadam for Political and Community Engagement.

Also appointed are Abubakar Hassan Difa for Rural Development and Community Relations, Iliya Suleiman for Youth Engagement, Lamido Buba Komfulata for Political Affairs, and Asma’u Mohammed Iganus for Women Mobilisation.

Mohammed Adamu has been named as Deputy Chief of Staff (Central) while Isiyaka Shu’aibu will serve as Deputy Chief of Staff (South).

The statement shows confidence in the new appointees. They are expected to help advance the administration’s development plans.

“Governor Inuwa Yahaya looks forward to the appointees using their experience and skills to help implement the administration’s development agenda. They should contribute to delivering quality governance for the people of Gombe State,” it stated.

These appointments are expected to improve policy execution, political engagement, and community outreach in Gombe State.
