Three gospel music organisers have called off or postponed their events after the death of gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings.
Toluwanisings passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. His death brought out many tributes from the gospel music community.
Among the organisers who changed their events are Kaywonder, Pure Gospel Music Generals Akure, and AY Grace Music Ministry. They made these decisions to honour the late singer.
Kaywonder, known for the hit song “Oke Nla”, announced on Thursday that the seventh edition of the Invasion Praise Concert would be postponed. It was supposed to hold on Sunday, October 18, at 2pm.
In a statement, the organiser said the loss affected the gospel music community deeply. This led them to postpone the concert.
“Following the heartbreaking loss of one of the Gospel ministers, Toluwanisings, we have been deeply affected by this painful moment. In honour of his memory and in recognition of the grief currently felt across the Gospel community, we have prayerfully decided to postpone the concert,” the statement said.
The organiser added that they had already prepared for the event, but now is a time for reflection, mourning, and prayer.
“This is a difficult moment for us all. Although we eagerly anticipated gathering in God’s presence to worship and praise Him, we believe this is a time to pause, reflect, mourn, and stand together in love and prayer,” it continued.
Kaywonder promised to announce a new date soon. He also asked the public to keep the late singer in their prayers.
Likewise, PUGMUG announced on Thursday that they have cancelled their 10th anniversary celebration, which was set for Friday, October 16, in memory of Toluwanisings. They called him a beloved brother and dedicated member.
“After careful consideration, and in honour of our beloved brother, we regret to announce that the 10th Anniversary Celebration scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled,” the organisation stated.
They mentioned that this decision would help their community to mourn and reflect. They also thanked everyone for 10 years of support and apologised to guests, ministers, and sponsors affected by the cancellation.
AY Grace Music Ministry also said they are postponing this month’s All Sufficient Monthly Praise programme, which was supposed to hold on Thursday.
In a statement on Instagram on Thursday, they said the decision followed the death of Toluwanisings, whom they called a beloved brother in the gospel music scene.
“Following the sad and tragic loss of our beloved brother in the gospel music industry, Min. Toluwani Sings, we regret to announce the postponement of this month’s edition of The All Sufficient Monthly Praise,” the statement said.
The ministry promised to announce a new date soon and apologised for any inconvenience caused. They also asked for understanding and prayers during this tough time, sending condolences to the late singer’s family, friends, and loved ones.
“We also pray that God will comfort the family, friends, and loved ones he has left behind and grant them the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace. Amen,” the statement added.
Toluwanisings was famous for his energetic gospel performances and Yoruba-influenced praise songs, including “A Very Big God” and “Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo”. His death has led to many tributes from fellow gospel artistes and members of the Christian music community.
