The wife of late gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, cried during her husband's tribute night in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In a video shared on Tuesday from the event at Jogor Centre, the widow struggled to give her tribute and eventually broke down in tears.
Many gospel artists were at the event, including Esther Igbekele, Laolu Gbenjo, Akintayo Akinwande, SB Live, Bidemi Olaoba, Mr Gbera, Peterson Okopi, and Sarah Apekeola.
Actress Bimbo Oshin was also among the celebrities who attended.
Toluwanisings passed away in the early hours of October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing in Ibadan.
After his death, his personal assistant, Babadunni, claimed that the singer was taken to seven or eight hospitals but did not get the proper medical help at some of them.
The University College Hospital in Ibadan stated that they have no record of the singer being brought there. The cause of his death has not been publicly confirmed.
His death also led to disagreements about his burial plans. Reports say there was a dispute between his family and his wife about where he should be buried.
His father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, wanted his son buried in the house he built or next to his late mother in Osun State.
This dispute came along with other family issues following the singer’s death. His grandmother, Sabitiyu Olayemi, claimed he had neglected her for years.
A man who said he was his uncle, Lawal Ademola, called for a fair investigation into the circumstances of his death.
