IK Ogbonna Remembers Alexx Ekubo with Heartfelt Video Tribute

Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has shared a touching tribute to his late best friend, Alexx Ekubo. He posted a video collection of their happy moments more than two months after Ekubo's passing.

Ogbonna shared the video on Instagram on Sunday. He reflected on their long friendship and called their memories a sign of love, joy, and family.

"It was all God. It was all love. It was all laughter. It was all dreams. It was all family. You will forever remain a part of us. Rest on, Ekuuuuu."

The heartfelt tribute struck a chord with fans and colleagues. It received over 50,000 likes and more than 2,000 comments, with many people sending comforting messages and remembering the strong friendship between the two actors.

Commenting on the post, #adanze_h said the memories are now what those who loved Ekubo can hold on to.

"Memories is all we have left. Keep resting Alexxx. Keep being strong ikay."

Another user thought about how emotional it must have been for Ogbonna to put together the video clips.

#miss_cassieblingz described the friendship as special. She said Ogbonna might not fully recover from this loss but will learn to live with it.

Ekubo passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after battling advanced metastatic kidney cancer. He was laid to rest in his hometown of Arochukwu in Abia State after funeral rites attended by family, friends, and colleagues.

The late actor and Ogbonna had a close friendship that lasted over 15 years. After Ekubo's death, Ogbonna paid a moving tribute during the Service of Songs and has been supporting Ekubo’s parents since then.
