Nigerian Fuji musician Adewale Ayuba has announced that his new five-track album, “Arise”, will be released on 19 September this year.
Mr Ayuba shared this news during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.
He explained that this project marks a new chapter in his music career.
Mr Ayuba said ‘Arise’ is different from the usual long albums, which often have long recordings.
He plans to focus on shorter songs and release them more often to match how people listen to music now.
“I’m no longer going to do long-form albums or 33-minute songs. I’m going with singles. That’s why I called it Arise, the beginning of another journey in my life,” he said.
Mr Ayuba chose to make a five-track album after his recent singles, “Koloba Koloba” and “Uncommon”, got a good response.
He said these singles helped him see how listeners reacted before putting together the new album.
“The two singles that I did, including Koloba Koloba, were just to sample and see whether people would appreciate them.
“Now, I see the kind of love they show to me through Koloba Koloba and Uncommon. I have now done five songs together in one album.
“In the album, we have Ileke, All Over the World, Kututu, Yetunde and one more,” he said.
The Bonsue Fuji star noted that his music carries messages, not just entertainment.
He promised that his new approach would not lower the quality or message of his music, stressing that being versatile is key to his artistry.
“I just want people to know that I’m versatile; I can do anything with music,” Mr Ayuba said.
He encouraged music fans to listen to Arise when it comes out on 19 September and to form their own thoughts about the five tracks.
Mr Ayuba said the album will be available worldwide, marking the start of a new chapter in his music journey.
