Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday led heartfelt tributes for his wife, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun. He described her as a woman marked by compassion, integrity, humility, and a strong commitment to helping others as she turned 60.

At a thanksgiving service for the First Lady’s milestone in Lagos, the governor thanked God for her life and for allowing her to reach this important age.

He praised his wife, calling her a reliable partner. He said her support, wise advice, and care for their family have been a strong source of strength over the years.

Governor Abiodun also highlighted her dedication to humanitarian work. He mentioned that her efforts to support women, children, and vulnerable groups have changed lives in Ogun State and beyond.

The governor stated that Mrs Abiodun’s life shows selflessness, compassion, and dedication to helping others. These qualities have made her beloved by many inside and outside the state.

“As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, I give thanks to Almighty God for His faithfulness and for preserving your life. My prayer is that He will continue to grant you sound health, divine wisdom, abundant grace, and many more fruitful years of impactful service to humanity,” he said.

In a touching tribute, the celebrant’s father, Professor Oladipo Oduye, shared his deep gratitude to God for being able to celebrate his daughter’s 60th birthday.

The former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan praised Mrs Abiodun as a responsible, caring, and accomplished woman who lives by the values of family, service, and excellence.

He congratulated her for her strong commitment to helping others and prayed that God would continue to support her for even greater achievements.

Pastor Ben Akabueze of the Redeemed Christian Church of God delivered the sermon. He said reaching 60 years is a milestone only possible through God’s grace.

Using Psalm 90:12, the pastor compared the celebrant to a diamond. He explained that just like diamonds must endure pressure to shine, Mrs Abiodun’s life journey has shaped her into a woman of great character and lasting value.

He stated that six decades of life represent resilience, perseverance, faith, and strength. He noted these virtues in the Ogun First Lady’s dedication to God and her lifelong service to humanity.

Pastor Akabueze encouraged Christians to live with purpose and make positive impacts, reminding them that every day is a chance to create a lasting legacy.

The thanksgiving service saw family, friends, political associates, senior government officials, and other well-wishers come together to celebrate the First Lady’s life and her ongoing legacy of compassion and service.
